Oxygen Cherry

I'm glad you're visiting me.
My online alias is Hostil, or Nina; I'll respond to either name.
You should know my native language isn't English, but Spanish. However, I think I'm fluent enough in English to hold a conversation.
It's important to me that you know this in case you notice any spelling or grammar mistakes, so you can let me know and I'll correct them. Help a perfectionist.

Thanks for being curious.

--- WHAT THE HECK DO I DO/WHO TF AM I? ---
Well, I've left you some not-so-personal information about me, which you can see at ur left. Yeah, the basics, but it's all you need to know about me.
I'm currently in university, and it's amazing, but that's why I often can't dedicate as much time as I'd like to my hobbies; it's the reason for my inactivity. Sometimes I'm just not inspired, but I try to be as active as possible on my TikTok account, posting silly things. I just don't want the lovely people who like what I do to stop tunning in.

Among my various hobbies, drawing is, first and foremost, my biggest and fav hobby. I can draw anything, whatever comes to mind, whether it's cartoon characters, realism (although I don't like it at all), landscapes, structures, even using analytical geometry (but you have to give me time to solve a problem). I'll do anything. I have a TikTok account, the one I mentioned above, which I've dedicated to post my drawings. My foundation is in traditional drawing, which I hold dear. I've posted some work to X, but I haven't found success or the motivation to be consistent on that platform.
I also do crafts with recycled materials, like… well, practically anything.

I'm also very devoted to reading and writing, although I'm not a voracious reader, but I was. I do read quite a lot for my studies, and I also enjoy written work like essays, whether academic or for leisure.

As for books, I certainly have preferences. I ADORE novels, especially about fiction. Sci-fi fascinates me in books and movies, but I'm not a cinephile, and my fav movie ranking list might seem predictable. I find studying societies fascinating, and the fact that fiction presents, without filter or sugarcoating, the harshness of a world falling apart is… incredible in my eyes, because that's what we need in our times: to see, know, and experience reality as it is, harsh and pure. In an era that has reverted to puritanism, I find escape in anything I can find about utopias and dystopias, which is what interests me most.

Alongside my habit (both imposed and not at the same time) of writing, is researching, but I'm not the kind of person who says they learn things randomly just to sound nerdy by bringing them up out of nowhere in conversation. No. I learn and research things that are intertwined in one way or another, or at least I look for connections. My notes are almost always from areas of interest to me, such as chemistry, the military, history, etc.

I'm bad at playing instruments. I've tried to learn to play the guitar, but it doesn't capture my attention as much as any of the other hobbies I've mentioned. If anything I might learn to play the drum I have at home someday, as I find something much more liberating in the drumming than in strumming the strings.

One of my most recent interests is HTML programming. I enjoyed the stress of the first day when I tried to remember the basics of programming, just to build this site from scratch. I'm stubborn and didn't leave my seat until I had (poorly) fixed my site. I'll keep learning and changing this site again and again. Why not?

--- THIS SITE ---
Discovering this site was amazing for me at a time when I saw my identity being lost on social media, where everyone seems like just an incubator of trends and monotony. Nobody is cool anymore. Nobody is special or unique. I was fed up, but I learned that there are people who want to experiment away from the algorithm, away from belonging, and simply BE. I was amazed exploring this site. I know only the most punkish create a page here. I had to be a part of that.

I've never sought approval or the possibility of monetizing the crap I do; I simply want a community, people who make me feel welcome, who are happy to see the nonsense I post, and feel free to comment on it. That motivates me to keep going, and of course, I spend a good time in the process.

I'm lucky to have fallen on the nice side of the internet. I love every new comment, every share, every new follower. None of it goes unnoticed by me. So, please, leave me a comment, and I'll chat with you as soon as I can. I want to know what those who tune in think.
